There's a belt you've pictured. Your name across the back in letters you chose. Your club's crest. The character you've had on your phone wallpaper since school. A kanji that means something only to you. The custom lever belt puts that design on 4 inches of leather that you brace into every heavy set.
Here's how it works. You pick a thickness, a lever finish and a size, upload one artwork file and add notes if your design needs them. We send you a design draft, and we make the belt only after you say yes. Two things to get right before you pay, because a belt made to your design is final sale. The size, and the file. This guide covers both, and everything people ask us along the way.
Quick answers
- You choose 10mm or 13mm, a black, gray or gold lever, your size and one artwork file. The price is US$229.90 whatever you pick.
- We send you a design draft, and we make the belt only after you approve it.
- It's final sale, so measure your braced waist at the navel and size up if you're between sizes.
- Large, high-contrast artwork prints best. Keep names and faces away from the ends of the belt.
- It isn't for IPF meets. See what you can print for other federations.
What's yours to choose
The table covers every choice on the custom lever belt's order page, plus the parts that don't change.
| Choice | Options | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Thickness | 10mm or 13mm | Changes how long break-in takes and how much the belt gives |
| Lever finish | Black, Gray or Gold | Labeled "Color" on the form; it isn't the color of the belt |
| Size | XS to 3XL | Your braced waist at the navel, not your pants size |
| Artwork | One PDF, PNG, JPG or WebP file, up to 19 MB | SVG, AI and EPS can't be uploaded, so save as a PDF or email it |
| Design notes | Optional, up to 500 characters | For anything your file can't show on its own |
| Same on every belt | Leather body, suede inner lining, tool-free gliding lever | Lining color, stitching, edges and width aren't choices |
Both thicknesses support heavy training. Pick 10mm if you want a belt that breaks in sooner and moves more with you. Pick 13mm if you want less give around your torso and don't mind a longer break-in. Either way, you get the same tool-free gliding lever, which is also quick-release and double-pronged.
A personalized lifting belt makes sense when you want a design you can't buy ready-made and you're sure of your size. The artwork changes how the belt looks, not how it supports you. If you lift in an IPF-affiliated federation, the meet section explains whether this belt suits your meets.
Because of the design draft, a custom order takes longer than a ready-made belt. If you need one by a meet date, ask us before you order, or pick one of our ready-made lever belts.
Get the size right. This one can't be swapped
Brace your abdominals, then run a tape around your waist over the navel, snug but not tight. Find that number in the first table on our belt sizing guide, "Standard, printed and patterned lever belts," and pick the size whose range includes it. The ranges overlap, so your number may sit in two or even three sizes, and the guide's advice between sizes is to size up. The second table on that page is for other belts, so skip it for a custom order.
Already own a belt that fits? Our sizing guide suggests measuring around it and choosing the size where that length sits mid-range. If you're still unsure which size to pick, or you're buying for someone else, check with us first. We can't exchange a custom belt for another size.
Make your artwork print the way you pictured it
What the upload accepts
The form takes one file per belt and won't add the belt to your bag until you choose one, so put everything you want printed into that file. If a file is the wrong type, over 19 MB or empty, the page rejects it and says why.
Prefer to email an SVG, AI or EPS original? Upload a PDF or PNG version anyway so the belt can go into your bag, then email the original to support@akincistrength.com with your order number. Your bag shows the uploaded file's name next to the belt, so check it before you pay. If it's wrong or missing, remove the belt and add it again with the right file.
General print advice
These are general tips from printing and design guides, not our requirements. Run your file past them.
- Send the largest original you have. Screenshots and copies squeezed by messaging apps have already lost detail. Printers judge resolution at the printed size, so a small image stretched along a belt comes out soft.
- Keep logos and text as vectors inside a PDF, if you have them. A vector is a set of drawing instructions rather than pixels, so its edges hold at any size.
- Design for a long, narrow strip. A square image either shrinks to fit the narrow side of the belt or gets cropped at the top and bottom.
- Check the design at belt scale. Shrink it on screen until it's no taller than a lifting belt is wide (hold a belt up to the screen if you have one). Hairlines and small or script lettering blur first, so thicken any line or letter that's hard to read at that size.
- Keep lines and text in strong contrast with what's behind them. A line close in color to its background can get lost. Light lines or lettering on a dark background need extra weight, because darker colors can spread slightly into lighter ones in print.
- Expect very bright screen colors to print duller. A screen makes color with light, so it can show neon greens, electric blues and deep purples that print can't match exactly. Treat your screen as a guide, not a color match.
- Keep names, faces and small text away from both ends and the stitched edges. The lever is fitted at one end and closes at the other, and stitching runs along both edges. Detail in those places can be hidden or crossed.
Only have a name, or an idea?
In the design notes, write the exact spelling and capitals of any name or text, which way the design should read along the belt, and any colors that matter to you. If your file has a transparent or plain background, or doesn't fill the belt, tell us what color you want behind it. Also say if anything has to stay clear of the ends of the belt.
Only have text, or an idea that isn't artwork yet? Ask us about a custom design, and we'll reply with the next step. The contact form has no file upload, so email any sketches or files to support@akincistrength.com. Send only artwork you made, own or have permission to use. We can't promise that every design can be printed.
Can you lift in it at a meet?
At a meet, officials check the print as well as the belt. The custom belt is USAPL & USPA compliant and IPL compliant, but whether your design passes depends on what's on it.
As of October 2026, the USAPL rulebook (v2026.2), the USPA rules (March 2025) and the IPL rules (2025) all bar the same three things. Another powerlifting organization's name, logo or image. Any reference to drugs, alcohol or performance-enhancing substances. Profanity or anything obscene or offensive. USPA and IPL expressly allow the lifter's, sponsor's or club's name on the belt in any colors. At a USAPL meet, if the equipment check rejects part of your design, tape over it or wear a different belt, because attempts in a rejected design are forfeited. For any other logo or picture, ask the meet director well before meet day.
IPF-sanctioned meets, from local competitions to world championships, accept belts only from manufacturers on the IPF's Approved List. We aren't on it, so this belt isn't for those meets. If your federation is affiliated with the IPF, check its equipment rules first.
What happens after you order
- Review the design draft. When it arrives, check it against your file and notes. Look at the spelling and capitals, which way the design reads, the color behind it and anything near the ends of the belt.
- Allow for the extra time. The delivery estimate in your bag is the same one our ready-made belts show, and it doesn't count the time the draft adds.
- Check the belt when it arrives. If it's damaged, defective or incorrect, email support@akincistrength.com within 7 days of delivery with your order number and photos. Our refund policy explains what happens next.
The lifetime warranty covers a fully torn belt, a broken lever and stitching that comes undone. It excludes lost screws, misuse and cosmetic damage such as scratches and scuffs, and its text doesn't mention the printed design.
Clean the belt with a soft brush or a damp cloth. Keep soapy water, color-based balms and polish off it, since they can change how a print looks.
Once your belt arrives, our guide to wearing and fitting a lever belt shows where it sits and how tight to set it.
Common questions
How much does a custom lever belt cost?
US$229.90, whichever thickness, lever finish and size you choose (price checked November 2026).
How long does a custom belt take?
Longer than a ready-made belt, because the design draft adds time, and the delivery estimate in your bag doesn't count it. If you need the belt by a meet date, ask us before you order.
Can I put a character, logo or brand on it?
Send only artwork you made, own or have permission to use. If you compete, also keep other powerlifting organizations' names and logos, drug or alcohol references and profanity off the belt.
What if the draft isn't right?
Tell us what to change when you reply. We make the belt only after you approve the draft, so check the spelling, which way the design reads and anything near the ends.
Can I return or exchange a custom belt?
No. It's made to your design, so it's final sale and can't be exchanged for another size. If it arrives damaged, defective or incorrect, email support@akincistrength.com within 7 days of delivery with your order number and photos.
Ready to see your belt? Choose your thickness, lever finish and size, then upload your artwork on our design your own lever belt page, or, if you only have text or an idea, ask us about a custom design first.
